Finding the Secret Fire
“…. When dealing with the “fire of philosophers” you mention the ritual of the Christian liturgical Eucharist, giving a sublime description of it; then, regretfully, you conclude the subject with “only this, for the moment, is allowed to be said”.
Dear friend, I understand what you are asking me, but I am only an “instrument” for the subject, not a master. Therefore I must obey some rules. Nevertheless I can give you more precise details.
What you ask is to go from theory to practice. Theory is sciolism and memory. Practice is making oneself a resounding instrument of the Idea (Eggregore). In order to be moved by the energy or the life of the Idea, we must first of all learn how to dominate and move our own energy and then project it in the direction we want (mental focussing).
This is the main aspect of the Power of the Mind, therefore of the Ars Regia.
The Royal Art is an operating method, not pure mental speculation; it finds its most advanced correspondent in the Raja Yoga (Royal Union). Only after this we can perceive the Ars Pontificia.
In the last article, “the Lost Word”, published on Ponte Arcobaleno (www.pontearcobaleno.it), we have dealt with the first notions on the power of the word. This power is not based on what is said but on how it is said.
The power of the word, then, is in its sound that is in the tonality of the word (sonorous vibration).
We have already talked about it as a fundamental aspect of ceremonial theurgy that, in order to become operative, needs several aspects.
• the power of the sound (vibration or living word);
• the art of visualization (illustrated creation of forms of thought);
• the technique of evocation-invocation (according to the law of affinity every minor simile (us) learn to re-call the attention of his major simile, the spiritual intelligence exoterically called Angel of the Presence ).
All these elements pass through the Act of Will.
Before starting this journey you must clearly know the difference between Free Will and Freedom of Choice otherwise you won't be able to understand who you are and where you are going (see vertical orientation).
The finishing line of the spiritual researcher, or the initiate, which I consider the same, is reachable only through the learning of the method (initiatory education), the discipline (inner order) and the perseverance that after a certain point develops the inner will , whose push is symbolized by the “Wings” of the Caduceus of Hermes.
To know is not enough to be able to do . Here we find the most difficult ingredient for the alchemic, or initiatory, operation. It is to find a guide (instructor) that works as a mirror for us (see initiatory speculum). Every particular initiatory language or method goes up (see sublimation) and ends up by joining in a unique way. Therefore, in his fusion, every instructor brings with him the synthesis of many languages and methods. For this reason he can work as a mirror and reflect in himself talents and reflections of the postulant giving him (see the Pelican who offers pieces of himself and his body in order to feed his chicks around him) knowledge (see the article “The Bread of Knowledge”). Only in that mirror the postulant will be able to see and to see himself.
To see and to know are one unique thing, therefore to see oneself means to learn how to know oneself. As it was carved on the entrance of every Temple in old times, Know Thyself.
At the end, and only at the end the instructor offers the inner teaching, the example to imitate; it is unique because the initiatory way and goal are unique. This uniqueness sums up and resumes the two paths of the Initiation: the mysteriosophical path (the way of the mind) and the mystical path (the way of the heart). As tradition wants, the teaching is given “through the words on the breath”.
