At first sight we should answer that integration is impossible, because “the
spirit that becomes matter is not spirit anymore, like the matter become spirit
is not matter anymore”.
Is there no way out then? The answer this time is affirmative.
The integration occurs through the “construction” of a superlative
model of mind (called integrated personality), suitable to “understand and
contain” both kinds of thought. The physical thought (the illusiveness of
everyday life, fiction and momentariness) and the spiritually enlightened (from
real and permanent) thought.
This is a mind, then, that is still material enough to follow the needs and expectations
of the physical life and at the same time, already subtle enough to get in “touch”
with the spiritual level, non-physical and non-temporal of the inner nature of
the human Being.
We are talking about the egoical mind. That is when “the
reason” of the “personality” integrates
with the “intelligence” of the superior Ego, or
true Self.
This kind of thought (or even better, this advanced ability to think) puts itself
between Manas and Buddhi.
It is “the Middle Way”, whose “Bridge” is supported
by intuitive intelligence (see article on Dharma), of which “vocations
and inner pushes (voices)” are “warning signs”. It
will be necessary, though, to educate and develop considerably these signs before
considering them “operational” (see Siddhi).
The task, then, will
be to find the “subtle thread” that allows us to “follow”
these “signs and inner pushes” despite all the natural and legitimate
“attractions” of the physical aspect. The latter represent the instrument
to “go through” the karmic experiences that are awaiting all of
us.
At this point the only thing to do is to hope for the sensitivity of the life
partner. He/she must hold, at least partially, his/her own natural egoism and
instinct for possession; in doing so, he/she will allow the other partner to
realize his/her inner experiences, even where they occurred outside the “uterus
of the couple”.
