Mediator
A human being of relatively highly evolved spiritual nature who serves as an intermediary or mediator between Hierarchy and ordinary humanity. It is important to distinguish between the Mediator and the medium. The former is lifted by his insight into the higher strata, while the latter, by the curse of his psychism can reach no further than the lower part of the subtle world, there to fall prey to elementals, disembodied souls, and all manner of evil.
One may be interested in mediums, but mediators must be esteemed and appreciated. (AY, 447)
