…Why did Athos use a fish to represent “the metaphor of the
conscience that goes (transcends) itself to find itself”? A fish that goes
up the water with difficulty towards the Source (the Light of the inner God)?..................
Dear friend,
the answer I’m going to give you is a Rule well known by every adept, even
the minor ones. The Rule says: (you) give me the first word and I
will give you the second (and then the third, the fourth, etc.).
You know this Rule quite well, but what does it actually mean?
It means that when we “throw (in the space around
us) a note or a tone” (in the form of a word or
an idea), someone will reply, like you did. If the answer is right we throw in
his direction another note (word or idea), but this time at a higher level. If
the interlocutor replies again, the dialogue continues. Otherwise that will be
the ‘proofed proof’ of the real level of the interlocutor, beside
any presumption, expectation or conviction that there is a good intention.
This is a ‘proof’ that can originate an initiatory contact between
the man who has already learnt (or wanted to learn) to work on himself and could
go further up and the man who is not ready for the jump.
Then there is the proof of the Service.
If the service entrusted is accomplished in the right and expected ways and
times, we can expect that it is requested even more, otherwise the silence
‘will hide’ our failure, until the next time. The ‘next time’,
though, could not be in this life, neither for us (as identity or impermanent
self). Therefore a chance to ‘emerge from the darkness’ of the matter
would be wasted.
In the eventuality that everything goes well and therefore we are asked for
even more, this also means we are offered more. We will be offered more (inner)
energy, (karmic) guide, help (teaching) and consideration (getting closer to
the Threshold of Contact).
It must be clear that we can approach the higher levels ONLY through the Service
and that the (occult) Teaching is given only to reach this goal.
We can also decide to continue being alone, in the company of ourselves or other
lost Travelers (physical personalities). If we look for a more advanced contact,
though, we must start with our own evolution first, learning how to ‘make
ourselves useful’ to Ourselves and then to the more advanced Brothers on
the Way of the eternal Service. Masters are not interested in
Travelers that adore them but rather in Pupils they can bring up and allow them
to be accepted at the Service for the Benefit of the humankind, called the Great
White Work.
I think that all the rest is illations and a waste of time for the Soul to which
we belong unconsciously.
