… were séances practised by theosophists?

Dear Friend,
Every teaching of the White Hierarchy condemns spiritualistic practices giving very good reasons for it.
One of these reasons is the “energetic vampirism” (scientifically – orgonomic), caused by the shells of the elementaries which try and renovate themselves by drawing energy from bystanders. Therefore they must keep the bystanders in a circle, and the circle itself becomes a “cow to be milked”; and in order to keep them, elementaries give the bystanders “seductive words” instead of “quality fodder”.
For this reason I think it is unlikely that true theosophists could be devoted to these practices.
