Q : ...what is exactly a Masonic triangle?
A : The initiatory triangle par excellence is the ceremonial one, made of the Three Masters that ‘support' the Lodge: the W. M. and the 1 st and 2 nd Wardens M.M.
The initiatory triangle is energetically lit at the opening of the ritual works, when the W. M. delivers the sentence: ‘ Brothers 1 st and 2 nd Warden, help me open (our) Works… '
The same triangle ‘supports' the Chorda Fratres , where W.M, 1 st and 2 nd Warden place themselves in the circle, made by all the components of the Lodge. In the circle only a kiss is normally sent round, which represents the brotherly love that ‘goes round' in the Group.
This is, though, a lesser reality.
In an advanced Lodge, in the brotherly Circle, the W.M. spreads two Words of Power via ear mouth .
The masculine Word of Power is spread from left to right , whilst the other, the feminine Word of Power , is spread from right to left (see Imago Templi 3.2 ).
After their ‘Journey' (but we should have a long disquisition on the peculiarities of this journey) both go back to the ear of the Worshipful Master, which, after having said them, re-absorbs them. But this is a prerogative of the real initiate.
A triangle of another kind is the administrative one, required for the constitution of a Lodge, where at least Three Masters are essential to start the proceedings necessary to its foundation.
